Workday Spring 2026 Release (2026R1)
The first Workday Release of 2026 went live on March 14, 2026!As a part of the release process, the ERP Services team tests the system to make sure everything works as expected, identifies any resource materials that might need updating, and informs our users of any changes that impact them.Often, the updates are behind-the-scenes and impact mainly central and ERP staff, but sometimes there are updates that impact all users.Some of the notable changes in this release include:

Updated Faculty Non-Teaching Overload Process
Greetings,There is a business process update for Faculty Non-Teaching overloads in the Add Job business process.BackgroundIn the current configuration, an HR Analyst selects the “Non-Teaching Overload” job profile for a faculty member and its routes for approval. The current highest approval is the Central Compensation Partner. A correction has been implemented that all Faculty Non-Teaching Overloads at UMCP and Shady Grove should route to the Provost Office instead of the Central Compensation Partner.

New Supplier Registration Platform Coming March 2
Workday is sunsetting the current supplier registration site and replacing it with - Workday Strategic Sourcing Supplier Registration - in March 2026. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Services is currently testing and tweaking the new platform and are scheduled to go live on March 2, 2026.

The January 2025 Workday Wire announces that 2026 will focus on refinement through incremental improvements to simplify processes and enhance usability, and previews the March 14, 2026 Workday feature release along with the March 2 launch of Workday Strategic Sourcing for supplier registration. The newsletter also highlights the addition of quick access links to the AI-powered Workday Virtual Agent on the ERP website, and the creation of a new Annual Time Off - Not Eligible for Payout bank to help employees manage carryover hours.
