  • Important Guidance for Costing Allocations

Entering correct and complete Costing Allocations is a critical component to ensuring employee salaries and benefits are charged to the appropriate worktags and funding sources.

  • Important Guidance for New Hire Home Addresses

During the ad hoc hiring process, Workday will allow HR Analysts to enter either a Home Address or a Work Address for the prehire. However, if a work address is entered and a home address is not, it will cause a delay for payroll. Additionally, entering a home address is a state of Maryland CPB requirement. This impacts hires who are not coming through the regular recruitment process such as Search waivers, PTK faculty, and C1s.

  • Updates to Time Tracking Reports

You asked and we listened! We’ve created a new report to enable Timekeepers, Managers, HR Analysts, and HR Partners more visibility into time tracking within their units/divisions.

  • Payroll Freeze Notifications

Some employees will receive a payroll freeze notification after their time is approved in Workday. There are a lot of really technical reasons why this happens, but, simply put, this occurs because time entries are processed at different times by the organization based on the type of position.

  • Issue Resolved - Timekeepers Unable to Approve Time

During the last pay period, many timekeepers reported they were unable to approve time for the employees they support. The team has identified the issue and corrected it. Timekeepers will now be able to utilize the Review Time task to review and approve employee time.

  • Important Change - Time Approval Notifications and Delegations for Managers

Managers will notice a slight change to how time approvals are delivered to them in Workday. The system will generate a notification instead of a task when time is awaiting your approval.
