Per campus feedback, we have created new Trainee Job Profiles to better meet department hiring needs. These trainee job profiles are used for hiring students who are not currently registered at UMCP or UMES—these could be students registered at other Maryland institutions or high school students, who therefore do not have student profiles in Workday.

We have made updates to the international hire process in Workday to reduce errors and improve user experience.

As noted in an email sent by Payroll Services, DIT/ERP has made an important adjustment to the Accident Pay configuration within Workday. This email is a follow-up with some helpful tips and clarifications.

To help prevent common errors in the hiring process, updated help text has been added to the "Ready for Hire: Submit Personal and Govt. ID Documents" step within the Recruit to Hire workflow, which appears as “Change Government Identifiers” in the hire’s inbox.

In anticipation of fall hiring, we have developed a new job aid aimed at new hires: Onboarding Steps in Workday. This comprehensive guide is intended to help new hires complete their onboarding tasks in Workday.

A recent enhancement was made in Workday to identify and resolve UID issues earlier in the Hire business process. This is to help eliminate 6 digit UIDs from being created and to increase efficiency with new hires being able to activate their directory ID and login to Workday.
