Change Job Business Process Update

Removal of Costing Allocation Task

Home Change Job Business Process Update

There is a business process update in the Change Job business process. Effective May 4, 2026, the costing allocation task in the Change job business process has been removed.

If worker costing allocations will require modifications, HR Analysts must use the Ad-Hoc “Assign Costing Allocation” task in Workday. Please note that this change to the “Change Job” business process (BP) also includes the “Review Employee Contracts” BP.

Concerning the “Review Employee Contracts” BP, costing worktags generally do not change when worker contracts are renewed. Therefore, the impact of this change when renewing worker contracts should be minimal. However, if a worker’s contract renewal does require a worktag and/or percentage change you should access the current contract’s costing allocation and modify the expiration date, worktags, or percentages from the current allocation.

So, costing allocation changes will no longer be processed as part of this BP. This will ensure more accurate costing allocation data being captured in Workday.
