Spring 2026 Workday Feature Release
Workday has two major feature releases a year, which deliver usability improvements, resolve known issues, and introduce new features that refine how we work within the platform each day. The spring 2026 Workday feature release (2026R1) went live on March 14! Learn more about some of the notable features included in this release on our website.
Workday Strategic Sourcing
On March 2, we also launched Workday Strategic Sourcing, the new supplier registration platform within Workday. This tool streamlines supplier onboarding by providing a centralized space for departments, suppliers, and the Procurement team to collaborate. With Workday Strategic Sourcing, departments can easily submit supplier requests, track review progress, and ensure all suppliers are properly approved before any business is conducted—resulting in a more transparent and efficient process for everyone involved.
News and Updates
New Functionality for Linking PO Lines to Supplier Invoice Lines
A new feature allows you to link purchase order lines to supplier invoice lines within a single screen, making it easier to manage matching and reduce the need for individual PO overrides.
Updates to Supplier Onboarding for Departments Training Course
We recently made a few updates to the Supplier Onboarding for Departments course to provide additional guidance and improve the supplier request process.
Export Control in Change Job
The Change Job process has been updated to include the Export Control screening process for select scenarios. This applies to University of Maryland College Park and and the Universities at Shady Grove only.
Final Leave Payout Reports for Departments
HR Analysts, HR Partners, HR Divisional Partners, Payroll Partners & Payroll Tenant Partners can run RPT3377 PAYROLL FINAL LEAVE PAYOUT REPORT - DEPARTMENT for their organization to review Completed and In-Progress Final Leave Payouts. If you have one of these security roles, you can access the report here. The report is also accessible on the HCM Dashboard on the Payroll-Related tab under the Pay Calcs and Payroll-related Reports section.
Security Roles Visibility
In mid-February, a new improvement was released that allows departments to View Security Roles by Worker or View Security Roles by Position. Refer to the job aid for step-by-step instructions on how to use this feature.

Did you know?
When an employee elects to receive compensatory time or overtime pay, the request routes to the Manager for approval and then to the Timekeeper’s My Tasks Inbox. Approving the tasks alone does not update the employee’s election. A change Organization Assignment must be completed to ensure the election takes effect correctly.
