Updates to the Workday Training Course: Supplier Onboarding for Departments

Home Updates to the Workday Training Course: Supplier Onboarding for Departments

We recently made a few updates to the Supplier Onboarding for Departments course to provide additional guidance and improve the supplier request process. Below is a summary of the updates.

What’s New:

  • Use the Team Chat feature – Guidance on how to use Team Chat to communicate with the Supplier Onboarding team during the onboarding request process.
  • Supplier contact changes – Updated guidance on what to do if the listed supplier contact on the New Supplier Request Form changes during the onboarding request process.
  • Streamlined User-Interface (UI) – Based on feedback from campus, we adjusted the process so users first add the suggested supplier and then enter project details. This change helps ensure requests are submitted with complete information.

Reminder:

  • To ensure the prospective supplier has the most updated instructions, it is recommended to always send the supplier the link to the job aids. It is not recommended to download the job aids and then send them to the supplier.
  • Starting March 14, 2026, prospective suppliers will be able to use SMS Text Multi-Factor Authentication. This simplifies the onboarding and login experience by providing a mobile-based alternative to authenticator apps. The supplier job aids will be updated accordingly.

These updates are intended to make the supplier request process clearer and help reduce delays caused by incomplete submissions.
