What are Workday Releases?
Workday updates our system twice a year, in March and September, referred to as bi-annual Workday releases. These updates deliver new features, fix issues, and improve usability of Workday.
Preparing for Workday Releases
The bi-annual approach allows ERP Services to plan and prepare for changes in advance, ensuring that our systems remain up-to-date with the latest innovations and improvements. Before every release, ERP Services:
- Reviews the list of updates included in the release
- Tests the system to make sure everything works as expected
- Updates training materials as needed
- Informs users of important feature updates
How do these updates impact Workday users?
These updates keep Workday up-to-date with the latest technology, so you can get the most out of the system. During each feature release, we’ll make sure you know what’s changing and how it affects you.
Workday Spring 2026 Release (2026R1)
The first Workday Release of 2026 will go live on March 14, 2026!
As a part of the release process, the ERP Services team tests the system to make sure everything works as expected, identifies any resource materials that might need updating, and informs our users of any changes that impact them.
Often, the updates are behind-the-scenes and impact mainly central and ERP staff, but sometimes there are updates that impact all users.
This upcoming release focuses on:
- Improving staffing accuracy
- Strengthening compliance controls
- Enhancing recruiting operations
- Targeted training needs for HR and Talent teams
We will keep this page updated with any relevant information about this upcoming release for our users, so check back often.
