2025 Reflection

This year was a monumental year for our user community. We completed the entire calendar year in a brand new HR and Finance system. Throughout the year, Workday users dedicated significant time to learning new processes and technologies, rethinking approaches to work tasks and projects, and providing important actionable insights to leadership and to the ERP Services and Central Business Units.

What to Expect in 2026

For 2026, our focus will be building on what we learned in 2025. In our second year in Workday, we are further advancing our transition from reactive support to forward-looking growth. We are committed to continuous improvement to make the Workday experience better for all users. This involves fine-tuning and refining our current Workday business processes, maximizing the use and understanding of Workday and its features, and responding to feedback from users and Central Business Units.

News, Updates and Improvements

Introducing our new Finance Product Owner, Jonida Budo

This fall, Jonida Budo joined the Division of IT as the new Director - Finance Product Owner. Jonida’s previous experience in large finance system management and her proficiency in Workday is a welcome addition to our dynamic ERP Services team.

Strategic Sourcing Coming in 2026

We are replacing our supplier portal, which expires in mid-March, with a Workday product called Strategic Sourcing. Stay tuned for more information in early 2026.

Accessibility in Workday

This new webpage provides an overview of accessibility in Workday for all users.

New Consolidated Hire Template and Reordering of Hire Tasks

The ERP Services HCM team rolled out a new consolidated template for hire that is designed to enable the Initiator to complete all of their tasks at the same time, providing more efficiencies and ultimately allowing for a more user friendly experience.

Compensation Plan Updates

Several improvements have been made in the “Propose Compensation” task. The “Propose Compensation” step is now generated for all supplemental pay Hire and Add Job transactions, and several validations have also been added to prevent errors.

Use or Lose Annual and Personal Leave Reminders

The Annual Leave carry-over limit for full-time regular Faculty and Staff is 480 hours (this is prorated by Total FTE for part-time employees). UHR has kindly provided several important reminders as your employees plan their leave before the carry-over deadline, which is January 10, 2026.
