In Q1 2026, we’ve made meaningful progress in refining some key Workday processes—helping reduce delays and improve the overall experience for our campus community. Compared to this time last year, key business processes have seen big improvements in average processing times.
Average Days to Completion for Business Processes in 2025 Q1 vs. 2026 Q1:
- Hire: down from 6.7 days to 4 days
- Complete Form I-9: down from 26 days to 8 days
- P-Card transaction verification: down from 8 days to 4 days
- Supplier invoice processing: down from 4 days to 2.7 days
- Requisition events: down from 5 days to 2.7 days
- Job changes: down from 3.6 days to 2.2 days
These improvements reflect ongoing efforts to streamline workflows, reduce bottlenecks, and make Workday more efficient for everyone.

Finance Releases FY26 Year-End Close Campus Calendar
University of Maryland College Park Finance leadership has released a year-end close campus calendar to guide department users through the year-end activities. We are working in partnership with Finance to hold virtual office hour sessions to help answer your questions about year-end close. These sessions are held every Thursday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm via Zoom. Session schedule and Zoom information is published on our website.
Reminder: PRDs at University of Maryland College Park
At UMCP, we are wrapping up the PRD review cycle for 2025/26. The final deadline is April 30.
Staff Relations is hosting PRD Office Hours via Zoom:
- Thursday, April 30, 2026 – 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Reminder: Managers Need to Approve Time Offs
If you are a manager, please ensure that you are reviewing and approving your staff’s time off requests in a timely manner. Keeping up with your team’s time off requests is important because it:
- Ensures final leave pay is accurate with up-to-date leave balances
- Prevents pay calculation errors or delays
- Minimizes retro time off corrections
Managers can view all time off requests awaiting their approval by using the report RPT1075 Time off approvals Awaiting me.
