Updated Faculty Non-Teaching Overload Process

Home Updated Faculty Non-Teaching Overload Process

Greetings,

There is a business process update for Faculty Non-Teaching overloads in the Add Job business process.

Background

In the current configuration, an HR Analyst selects the “Non-Teaching Overload” job profile for a faculty member and its routes for approval. The current highest approval is the Central Compensation Partner.  A correction has been implemented that all Faculty Non-Teaching Overloads at UMCP and Shady Grove should route to the Provost Office instead of the Central Compensation Partner.

What is Changing?

  • A new job profile called “Faculty Non-Teaching Overload” has been created for Faculty Members who are receiving a non-teaching overload. As a result, the current “Non-Teaching Overload” job profile should not be selected for Faculty members receiving a non-teaching overload.
  • When the “Faculty Non-Teaching Overload” job profile has been selected, the Provost Office receives the transaction as the highest approver.
