There is an unexpected warning in the Complete Form I-9 business process that may give the impression that a date was incorrectly entered and/or the user should not proceed. Please note, this unexpected alert is informational only and will not prevent users from completing or submitting the I-9.  Below is the text of the warning:

During the Complete Form I-9 business process for new hires, the below warning appears:

“Enter a First Day of Employment that matches or is less than 3 days after the worker's hire date. If the First Day of Employment is more than 3 days after the hire date, enter the Overdue Reason.”

Workday will be deploying a fix by November 6, 2026 to remove the alert.
