Understanding the Absence Calendar

Home Understanding the Absence Calendar

You may have noticed that the Absence Calendar went through a major overhaul during the last Workday release. For example:

  • The “Correct Absence” task is now “Manage Absence.”
  • From the “Manage Absence” task you can also view and interact with the Manage Absence calendar, including viewing your leave balances.
  • In the Manage Absence calendar, leave balances are now displayed on the right.
  • Requesting absences is now done via a pop-up window that takes workers through the process step-by-step.

Did you know:

  • When you click on the "Request" tab on the Manage Absence calendar you can:
    • View whether the request has been approved.
    • View all your absence requests from the past 6 months and the next 12 months.
  • You can request an absence from the Manage Absence calendar by navigating to and clicking the day(s) you’d like to request time off. You can also request an absence by clicking the Actions button in the top right, and then clicking “Select Date Range” from the dropdown menu.

To support the recent updates, our training team has refreshed all relevant Time & Absence job aids with the latest information and new functionality.
