The purpose of this email is to inform you of an unsynchronized compensation effective date during a job change approval in the Request Transfer business process (NOTE: not all change job actions are impacted, just this specific reason):
Context:
If an HR Analyst updates the Change Job effective date (e.g., changing it from 10/01/2026 to 10/20/2026) in the Review: Current Manager approval step and submits:
- The overall parent Change Job correctly saves and reflects the updated effective date (10/20/2026).
- However, when the Receiving Manager accesses the Propose Compensation section or adds a salary plan assignment, the compensation record retains the original date (10/01/2026) and does not automatically update to match the parent event.
This discrepancy can cause incorrect effective dates on compensation events. As a result, it is imperative that both initiators and approvers review the compensation section before the event is successfully completed to ensure the compensation effective date matches the parent Change Job effective date.
Workday will be deploying a fix by November 13, 2026.
