Quick Start Guide: Final Leave Payouts in Workday

Home Quick Start Guide: Final Leave Payouts in Workday

We have created a new Quick Start Guide to help users understand the process of processing a final leave payout for a terminating employee.

Did You Know?

Quick tips about final leave payouts:

  • When certain faculty members or C2 Staff employees are terminating they may only qualify for a set amount of leave to be paid out or possibly no payout. So, you should always review their contract to determine their eligibility for a final leave payout prior to completing the Workday questionnaire.
  • If you are an HR Analyst, you will receive a system notification when the final leave payout is scheduled to be paid to the terminated employee.
    • To search your notifications for a specific name or UID, use the Ctrl+F keyboard shortcut.
  • The Awaiting Approval and Terminating tab on the HCM Dashboard displays HCM transactions that are pending action (RPT1320) as well as terminating positions (RPT019).

With final leave payouts, always remember to:

  • Be vigilant about checking final leave balances.
  • Complete the questionnaire confirming the current Time Off Balances in Workday are correct or require UHR to update a balance for both annual leave and holiday leave.
    • If it is for a Faculty or C2 Contractual Staff Employee, please attach the contract.
  • Timely completion of the questionnaire ensures final leave payout will occur within the two pay periods following termination.
